This book is an excellent introduction to WCF on Dot Net 4. I thouroughly recommend it to all Dot Teams and individual developers who work or may work with WCF 4.

The book will take several readings in order to get the greatest benefit from the wealth of practical information contained therein. You should be prepared to spend time working through the sample code for the book available from the Apress Site at http://www.apress.com/9781430233688

There are two downsides to the book, which I would hope that a second edition will address:

  • There are not the detailed Web Service to WCF and Remoting to WCF conversion examples that the back cover¬† indicates to me.
  • There is not at the start of each chapter a quick problem solving refererence as there is with say http://www.apress.com/9781430231714
